CSL was entrusted with a mission to address a common issue in the medical field: messy catheter disconnections leading to undesirable spills. Working closely with an experienced elderly inventor, we set out to develop an ergonomic and user-friendly solution for tube connection and securement.

The result of our collaboration is an innovative medical device design aimed at simplifying the connection process and preventing accidental disconnections. Our prototype boasts versatile manufacturing options, with the flexibility to be either 3D printed or injection molded, ensuring feasibility for production at scale.

Key features of this design include a distinctive living hinge and a tailor-made clamping mechanism, enhancing both functionality and ease of use. By tackling the challenges associated with catheter connections, our solution not only promotes patient comfort but also streamlines medical procedures for healthcare providers.
